KOP 2016 New Year's Goals:
I have never really been a believer of New Year Resolutions. After all, if you want to accomplish something do you really wait until January 1st to do it? Absolutely not! If you want to implement a new habit, then you set goals and work towards them, right? So, instead of writing a post about all the resolutions that I have for Karyn Olsson Photography, I have decided that I will share some of my goals for 2016, and maybe some of you can help keep me accountable? This year, as an Orange County photographer, I want to:
- Start blogging my sessions. I admit, I love photography, but I kinda hate writing. Well, I don't hate writing, I just don't feel like I have the time to write. I know...insert eye roll...no one has enough time in their day! But, I really do lead a busy life. I am a wife and a mom to three kids. It is chaos most days. However, in 2016 I am setting the goal to blog at least one time a week for my little photography business.
- Be published. This year I really want to be published. And, not just by winning a themed contest on a Facebook page. I mean really published! I want to be in print. I want to hold it in my hands and see it printed.
- Master Photoshop. Photoshop is a beast. This year I am going to slay that beast! I have been doing 99% of my editing in Lightroom, and while LR is a fabulous too, I want to take it to the next level. I have enrolled in a 3 day class to learn PS. Wish me luck!
- Mentor another photographer. I love to teach. If I know how to do it, then I am happy to share. I would like to help another, newer photographer learn. Learn what you ask? I have no idea!! Whatever they want! Technicals, posting, lighting....whatever they feel they need more help with.
There you go! These are my 4 goals for KOP this year. It may not seem like a lot, but I would really like to set myself up for success this year, so no need to over do it! And, as always if you are in the greater Orange County area and are looking for a natural light photographer, please contact me here.
